Week 1

Hello friends and family.
I have decided to keep a blog about our time away so we have it as a memory and so you can read about our adventures and see some pictures from them. So here goes..........

Sunday Dec 26th could have been 1of the saddest day of my life (so far). Standing at the security gate in the airport with our parents giving hugs and kisses knowing that this was the last time in a couple months that they'd get to kiss their grand boys was so hard, I felt so bad. But I know and I hope they know too that this is only temporary and for the good of those grand boys.
The flight to MN was great, it wasn't full so we got to stretch out a little. Gage has some trouble descending but fell asleep and was fine. Ann, a friend that Scot works with met us at the airport and helped get our stuff home. Ali, Scot's niece and Gray (my cat) rode with her. We loaded Scots car and off we went. I cried a little bit more driving to our new house but when we got here and seen our stuff I felt better. Scot had done a great job unpacking and organizing what he could. We brought Ali with us to help me with the kids so I could finish the rest but I really didn't have much else to do. It was great having her here though, I still had a little piece of home with me. We went to dinner at The Tavern in Northfield that night, it was really good. Monday we just hung around the house getting things put away and cleaned. Tuesday I took Scot to the bus stop so we could have the car and go exploring. We went to the library then to Walmart then to see Yogi Bear. Yes, all these places had been put into Scot phone so the GPS could guide me because I would have never found them otherwise:) We did go shopping too and by the time Scot got home from work we were all beat. Wednesday was a big day too we went to the Mall of America, what a HUGE place!!! Denton loved the Nickelodeon Universe inside there, he didn't go on any rides but had fun playing games and riding the escalators and elevators. Ali and I went shopping I swear we went in like 100 stores, ok I might be exaggerating a little but it sure felt like it! We were there for 4 hours! You could easily spend ALL day maybe even 2 days in there to see it all. I gotta tell ya too that I have slept like a log since we've been here. Man, the only thing that wakes me up is Gage fussing. Scots pushing and poking me to wake me up to shut me up (snoring) doesn't even phase me. He slept on the couch one night because it was so bad! haha!! So anyway Thursday I took Scot to work again and Ali and the boys and I went to Walmart again just to pass the time I think. I felt bad for Ali cuz its so cold and snowy here and we can't really do much outside so I was just trying to find stuff to do so she wasn't bored stiff. She did eat at the Dairy Queen for the first time that day, not sure if it was a real memorable thing for here or not (probably not) lol!! Friday we went to the Science Museum and that was a lot of fun! We stopped in Minneapolis first to show Ali where Scot works and to see the Hells Kitchen restaurant. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the tv show but it was cool anyway. Then drove by the Metrodome or NO dome as it is now. HAHA!! The museum was a big place too, it sits right along the Mississippi River and there were some boats along the sides, frozen there of course. We looked at a ton of stuff and got to play on the musical stairs, that was Dentons favorite part. Gage is still too little to do much but he was so good all day. That child is a little munch mouth, he'd eat all dang day if we let him!! I guess he's just making up for all the calories he's burning by crawling everywhere. Saturday Scot took Ali to the airport, it was time for her to go home. I was sad to see her go:( I cleaned up and vacuumed that morning then sat my butt on the couch and watched the first season of Raising Hope. That show is hilarious!!! It was so nice to just sit and do nothing:) Today we went to the Burnsville Center, its another mall just not as big as MOA. Gage and I shopped while Scot and Denton played mini golf and games. Denton got a hole in 1 on the 13th hole, all by himself. He was so proud. We came home and Skyped my parents, I love Skype its so nice to see who you are talking to. I miss them very much but we are going back in March for a week or 2 so that's something to look forward to.
Well, if I didn't bore you too much stay tuned for another post next week!! Loves to all:)
