week 5

Week 5 already? Wow! I just got home from work and still like my job its not as busy as last weekend but still have good days:) I did my first 2 hour massage tonight, what a workout that was! The guy was really nice and talkative so that made it easier and not seem so long. Scot got some good news from work this week, he is now in charge of their business intelligence reporting system from data warehouse to the frame work manager to individual report generation and support. Sounds cool and yes he should be getting paid more, all in due time I guess. His boss says he makes their department look good:) OH, Denton pooped in the potty today!! He had to tell me that when I called from work and he told me that they took a picture of it too HAHA No, I haven't seen it yet. lol:) So I went to lunch today and was looking for somewhere to eat and realized there are no Taco Times here!! What the crap!! I miss Taco Time, its a favorite:) Oh and they don't have the packaged turkey steaks here like they do in Utah either, I'm pretty sure I'm craving them so bad just because I can't have them!
Well this week we celebrated Gage's birthday and had a great time doing it even though I wished we had the family here with us. He got a play table, pajamas, and some money from grandma and grandpa Christensen and a home made pound puppy from grandma and grandpa J and an elephant pop up ball thingy from us. We had a truck cake made for him because I'm just not as talented as some of my family members and can't do it myself. haha We Skyped both families to sing to Gage then he got to eat his cake. He hesitated a little at first then dug in, it was funny:)
We took the boys to the Burnsville Center one night to play on the toys just to get out of the house, we go a little stir crazy sometimes. It finally got into the double digits outside too, we considered it a heat wave but its supposed to be back to bitter cold again this week:( Uncle Pace is here this week though and I'm sure we'll have some fun with him.
We did get Gages 1 year and our family pictures done yesterday so when we get them back Friday we'll send them out to the families:)
Well, I'm having a brain fart cuz I'm tired so if I think of anything else I'll add it later:)

Week 4

Whew, what a busy week/weekend. I started working this week and man oh man do people here like massage, I did 11, yes 11, in 3 days and I have one more day tomorrow, I'm tired. haha! I've met some really nice people there and hope to have some gal pals to hang out with.
Scot is still working away and gets compliments all the time on how good he is at his job. I know he'll get to where he wants to be soon and I am very proud of him!
We had a little piece of home here this week, Pace was here for work and came over Monday and Thursday after work Denton was so excited to have him here cuz Uncle Pace played Batman video game with him:)
Scot got to go out with the boys from Utah Tuesday night, Kelly, Mike and Pace. He had fun. The boys and I went to the Burnsville Center and had dinner then played some games. We also had a friend that Scot works with Ali come over Wednesday night with her 15 month old boy Ben. Denton had fun with him and was very polite and shared his toys with him. We're hoping to meet more people with kids so the boys will have friends.
Gage has been taking more and more steps on his own I'm thinking he'll be running in about a week! His birthday is this Thursday and we're going to get him his own little cake so he can destroy it, it'll be fun to watch. Hopefully we can get a video stream online so that the other family members can watch him too.
Here's a little video of Gage walking:)

Week 3

Another week come and gone. Time sure does go by fast here I can't believe its already mid January!! I have a little to report on this week. I put in a couple resumes last week and both places called me back! I interviewed at Massage Envy just 10 min away from us in Burnsville and Body and Sol here in Lakeville. I really liked Massage Envy because its strictly massage, no body treatments like body wraps, (not my cup of tea). I accepted the job at Massage Envy and am going to the orientation on Monday, I'm pretty excited to work again. We've had plenty of snow here also they said its a record year for snow fall, go figure haha! We take drives whenever we can to go see where stuff is and found the Mystic Lake Casino, my dad asks me about it almost every time we talk so I gave him the run down today when we talked. Its nice, has a golf course right there and a daycare so you can drop your kids off and go play lol! Then we went to the bowling alley just up from us and its really nice too, its kind of like a Fat Cats in UT. Denton had a lot of fun playing the games. As for Scots job, he's doing really well at it! His boss had told him that as soon as there's more room at the tech center here in Lakeville he can start working from there instead of going into Minneapolis. He's home by 4:30 everyday and that is so nice!! We booked our plane tickets to go home for a visit in March, mom and I are going to the Bon Jovi concert!! She is coming here on the 11th of March to watch the boys while Scot and I go to the Jazz /Timberwolves game and then myself, mom and the boys will head to UT on the 13th!! Scot is staying behind to work but feels like the time visiting will be really great for us, I am so excited!! Well, I think that's all I have for this week:)

Week 2

Well here we are after the 2nd week. All is going good so far. Its pretty cold so we stay inside as much as possible. We had a busy week the first week here so we just kind of laid low this week. We got out and had some pizza and ice cream (I know I know) it was yummy. I took my massage resume to the spa by our house and am hoping they call. I think a part time job would be good for me. We were excited to get the package from mom and dad Friday that had some of the boys xmas presents in it. It was like xmas all over agai for Denton when he saw his Transformers. We've been potty training Denton and he is doing really well, he gets treats when he actually tells us he has to go rather than us telling him its time to go. haha Gage has been walking around with his little walker thing, he gets a little nervous when we take it away and have him try but he'll ge there. Scot has been such a big help since we've been here ( not that he wasn't before) he makes sure I don't get overwhelmed and I really appreciate him for everything! I'll put up some pictures of the house when I take some. I can't wait for the snow to melt to see what the outside looks like here. It is a really pretty place and can't wait to be able to enjoy it more.

Week 1

Hello friends and family.
I have decided to keep a blog about our time away so we have it as a memory and so you can read about our adventures and see some pictures from them. So here goes..........

Sunday Dec 26th could have been 1of the saddest day of my life (so far). Standing at the security gate in the airport with our parents giving hugs and kisses knowing that this was the last time in a couple months that they'd get to kiss their grand boys was so hard, I felt so bad. But I know and I hope they know too that this is only temporary and for the good of those grand boys.
The flight to MN was great, it wasn't full so we got to stretch out a little. Gage has some trouble descending but fell asleep and was fine. Ann, a friend that Scot works with met us at the airport and helped get our stuff home. Ali, Scot's niece and Gray (my cat) rode with her. We loaded Scots car and off we went. I cried a little bit more driving to our new house but when we got here and seen our stuff I felt better. Scot had done a great job unpacking and organizing what he could. We brought Ali with us to help me with the kids so I could finish the rest but I really didn't have much else to do. It was great having her here though, I still had a little piece of home with me. We went to dinner at The Tavern in Northfield that night, it was really good. Monday we just hung around the house getting things put away and cleaned. Tuesday I took Scot to the bus stop so we could have the car and go exploring. We went to the library then to Walmart then to see Yogi Bear. Yes, all these places had been put into Scot phone so the GPS could guide me because I would have never found them otherwise:) We did go shopping too and by the time Scot got home from work we were all beat. Wednesday was a big day too we went to the Mall of America, what a HUGE place!!! Denton loved the Nickelodeon Universe inside there, he didn't go on any rides but had fun playing games and riding the escalators and elevators. Ali and I went shopping I swear we went in like 100 stores, ok I might be exaggerating a little but it sure felt like it! We were there for 4 hours! You could easily spend ALL day maybe even 2 days in there to see it all. I gotta tell ya too that I have slept like a log since we've been here. Man, the only thing that wakes me up is Gage fussing. Scots pushing and poking me to wake me up to shut me up (snoring) doesn't even phase me. He slept on the couch one night because it was so bad! haha!! So anyway Thursday I took Scot to work again and Ali and the boys and I went to Walmart again just to pass the time I think. I felt bad for Ali cuz its so cold and snowy here and we can't really do much outside so I was just trying to find stuff to do so she wasn't bored stiff. She did eat at the Dairy Queen for the first time that day, not sure if it was a real memorable thing for here or not (probably not) lol!! Friday we went to the Science Museum and that was a lot of fun! We stopped in Minneapolis first to show Ali where Scot works and to see the Hells Kitchen restaurant. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the tv show but it was cool anyway. Then drove by the Metrodome or NO dome as it is now. HAHA!! The museum was a big place too, it sits right along the Mississippi River and there were some boats along the sides, frozen there of course. We looked at a ton of stuff and got to play on the musical stairs, that was Dentons favorite part. Gage is still too little to do much but he was so good all day. That child is a little munch mouth, he'd eat all dang day if we let him!! I guess he's just making up for all the calories he's burning by crawling everywhere. Saturday Scot took Ali to the airport, it was time for her to go home. I was sad to see her go:( I cleaned up and vacuumed that morning then sat my butt on the couch and watched the first season of Raising Hope. That show is hilarious!!! It was so nice to just sit and do nothing:) Today we went to the Burnsville Center, its another mall just not as big as MOA. Gage and I shopped while Scot and Denton played mini golf and games. Denton got a hole in 1 on the 13th hole, all by himself. He was so proud. We came home and Skyped my parents, I love Skype its so nice to see who you are talking to. I miss them very much but we are going back in March for a week or 2 so that's something to look forward to.
Well, if I didn't bore you too much stay tuned for another post next week!! Loves to all:)
